VIB is a life sciences research institute in Flanders, Belgium and it works in close partnership with four universities − Ghent University (UGhent), Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven), University of Antwerp and Vrije Universiteit Brussel and is funded by the Flemish government.
The researchers/ scientists at VIB Belgium work on molecular biology, cell biology, developmental biology, structural biology, plant systems biology, genetics, biochemistry and microbiology.
The VIB International PhD programme is opened for all international students who are non-Belgians and are living abroad.
The candidates should have a minimum 5 years degree (comparable to Masters degree) in life sciences.
The medical students who already has an MD can also apply for this PhD programme.
VIB prefers the candidates to be not older than 28 years.
The start date is October 2012 and all successful candidates will be provided with yearly 23500 Euros scholarships/ salary.
