The Anne van den Ban Fund is termed after Dr Anne van den Ban, a previous professor Rural Extension at Wageningen University. The fund had been established in 1992 by 2 Wageningen graduates. The Anne van den Ban Fund is associated to the Wageningen University Fund.

Goal: The fund is available to allow promising scholars coming from developing  nations to learn at Wageningen University. The long term objective will be the training of skilled professionals who is going to perform major roles in enhancing the agricultural development, rural development and environment in their nations.

As well as the geographic requirements scholars trying to get the fund must fulfill the subsequent criterias:

- they have to be accepted for his or her preferred study at Wageningen University

-  they have to have attained excellent educational results in their own nation

- they have to plan to go back to their own nation with the finishing of their degree

From February 1st 2012 the call for candidates is available for the following scholars:

Students coming from Africa and South Asia/South-East Asia and from other countries with a GDP per capita below $3000
Only scholars with excellent academic results can apply (first class, GPA 85 or more);
The student must have had admission to Masters Degree program of Wageningen University
The applicant must be below 35 years old

Deadline for Application: 1 May 2012
